Aubergine excitement

I seem to spend a lot of time waiting and wondering, especially as I am growing one or two new things this year. At last, however, there are more than just leaves on the strongest aubergine plant.

Aubergine flowers?

I hope now we will have a return to warmth and sunshine instead of chilly rain. Though perhaps the latter is what has prompted the aubergine to move up a gear.

In Yorkshire there is a saying ‘There’s nowt so funny as folk’; well, my version would be ‘There’s nowt so funny as plants’. They certainly are a quirky bunch.

About Helen

I have always been interesting in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and used to do what I could. Now, I have come to realise that we have reached such a point in terms of environmental degradation that it is more important - perhaps - to focus on building resilience. I therefore do as much as I can to reuse, grow my own and encourage a supportive community, for example. I also keep reading and learning all the time.

I’ve never seen this plant before, it’s something how it leans to the light though 🙂
