Warming up

My obsession with the greenhouse continues. Yet again this morning it started sunny but frosty, so I decided to do a little experiment with the thermometer.

Chilly outside, warm inside

According to the phone, it is only 2 degrees C outside. On the other hand,  the temperature gauge inside the greenhouse said nearly 6 degrees at 8 o’clock this morning. So, looks like the seeds will be basking in a modicum of warmth, after all. At least when it’s sunny!

About Helen

I have always been interesting in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and used to do what I could. Now, I have come to realise that we have reached such a point in terms of environmental degradation that it is more important - perhaps - to focus on building resilience. I therefore do as much as I can to reuse, grow my own and encourage a supportive community, for example. I also keep reading and learning all the time.

  1. Congrats on your new greenhouse! Have fun experiementing on what you can grow in it! Share any tips that you learn with your readers.

  2. Yes it’s great when sunny, Helen Just be aware that temps do drop in there at night and if you are expecting a frost it is still wise to cover the seed trays with fleece or bubble wrap x

  3. I bet those seeds are loving it indoors … that extra warmth will get them cracking! 😀

I do hope so… To be honest, I’m a little impatient, wanting everything to grow right now 😉

Anyway, it gives me something else to mother and look forward to when I get home – making sure they are watered and ‘comfortable’!

I love to read about your own experiences and any other feedback you have, so look forward to your comments below.
