Morning stroll resumes

Over the past few weeks, as the mornings have got lighter, I’ve been able to indulge in more frequent walks round the garden at breakfast time. Of course, today being a Sunday, it is not unusual to find me inspecting the plants and soil but this morning I felt the gratitude that I could now do the same before I went to work as well.

Anyway, more and more bulbs are appearing above ground. I have marked in my garden map what was planted where but there are newcomers which I swear I never had a hand in.

The ones in the photo below are anemones, I believe, but not having grown them before I can’t be sure. Besides, I’m sure there weren’t as many bulbs as this or in this arrangement….. But whatever they are, I am happy that the garden will soon be awash with colour🌺.

How about your garden – what surprises have you found?

About Helen

I have always been interesting in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and used to do what I could. Now, I have come to realise that we have reached such a point in terms of environmental degradation that it is more important - perhaps - to focus on building resilience. I therefore do as much as I can to reuse, grow my own and encourage a supportive community, for example. I also keep reading and learning all the time.

That’s great! When did you plant it? Mine always bolts so no chance of any being around over the winter.

I think about 3 months ago! I had planned on making a hot house to put over them and then life took over and I didn’t. They did sprout…I thought they had died as the winter was super cold. I just went out there today and they look wonderful! A very nice surprise!
