The tomatoes are a-turning

This morning, the tomatoes in the diningroom  were looking a decidedly odd green. So, I knew they would soon turn red. What I didn’t expect was some of them to be orange by this evening.

I’m so excited as I have never had my own tomatoes in June before – unless they have been in chutney!

About Helen

I have always been interesting in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and used to do what I could. Now, I have come to realise that we have reached such a point in terms of environmental degradation that it is more important - perhaps - to focus on building resilience. I therefore do as much as I can to reuse, grow my own and encourage a supportive community, for example. I also keep reading and learning all the time.

I bought the tomato plant in the middle of April and kept it in the house. So, it could be the early start plus consistent warmth. It does need a lot of watering, though! x

  3. Lovely update Helen enjoy your first fruit of your tom harvest I still making up my mind were to plant mine some out side or if the greenhouse goes up this weekend as we waiting on a friend to help us with it have a blessed day
