Along the wall

I couldn’t believe it! I was home before it got dark this evening, or properly dark at any rate. I also had an idea.

I had six onion sets left from the packet I bought at the start of the year and had been wondering where to put them. Maybe the front garden but that needs work doing to it. Another space somewhere in the annual vegetable patch but I don’t want any more of that used up for the next few months on onions.

The ground under my kitchen window was now free and it was practically begging me to put something in it. As it is in the as yet empty herb garden, I decided it might as well be productive with something. So it’s a bit of an experiment to see if the soil there is up to much.

Indeed, everything in my garden is an experiment of one sort or another. But regarding onions specifically, they are in three places and it will be interesting to see which of them fares the best.

About Helen

I have always been interesting in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and used to do what I could. Now, I have come to realise that we have reached such a point in terms of environmental degradation that it is more important - perhaps - to focus on building resilience. I therefore do as much as I can to reuse, grow my own and encourage a supportive community, for example. I also keep reading and learning all the time.
