A fitting name….

I used to live in a part of Leeds called Horsforth, which I now realise I didn’t explore in any great depth. Fortunately, I have a friend who still lives there, who yesterday showed us a part which was very much new to me.

It also happened to be a bright and sunny day. The snowdrops we saw were therefore basking in sunlight, although today would be a different story as we finally have some real snow!

It is however supposed to warm up within the hour and start to rain, which is no bad thing in view of the amount of driving I have to do today. Hopefully, the weather is being kind to you, wherever you are, so you have the pleasure without the pain.

PS I haven’t noticed my own snowdrops yet.

About Helen

I have always been interesting in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and used to do what I could. Now, I have come to realise that we have reached such a point in terms of environmental degradation that it is more important - perhaps - to focus on building resilience. I therefore do as much as I can to reuse, grow my own and encourage a supportive community, for example. I also keep reading and learning all the time.

  1. We haven’t noticed ours, either

  2. Clare Pooley says:

I saw some snowdrops by the river in Norwich a month ago but nothing here so far.

  3. The weather is very warm and dry .. waiting for some rain!

  4. I think I planted more snowdrops in November, but now that you are mentioning yours, I really must go check. These are lovely. It’s been the driest December on record here in San Jose, and our air quality reflects that lack of rain. So disappointing. It’s been unseasonable warm, too, even for California, though the nights are down to freezing. Between the flu and the lack of rain, it has been a surreal month. Onward.

I love to read about your own experiences and any other feedback you have, so look forward to your comments below.
