At last, it’s happened!

Of course, the heavens opened just as we arrived into our station yesterday evening.

Since then, there have been short bursts of heavy rain, which have so far only touched the surface of the soil. However, I think I will give sowing some more sweetcorn a blast. Might as well see if the succession planting works.

Also, it would be good to get sage and other herb seedlings out of the greenhouse/house, so that I can start on plants promised to a friend. Such a great feeling, being able to move forward after two months of inertia.

About Helen

I have always been interesting in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and used to do what I could. Now, I have come to realise that we have reached such a point in terms of environmental degradation that it is more important - perhaps - to focus on building resilience. I therefore do as much as I can to reuse, grow my own and encourage a supportive community, for example. I also keep reading and learning all the time.

  1. Rain! So wonderfully refreshing and welcome I’m sure.
