I’m pretty amazed by the recent developments at the back of the garden, where I had been battling with ground elder. When I checked yesterday to see what might be growing, there were shoots but only those I wanted: garlic.
They seem to be coming through earlier this year – and who knows why, especially as I am sure I planted the cloves later. In any case, I hope that bodes well for a good crop.
And then the plan for this spot is to plant out the day lilies which have also started to appear, this time on my windowsill.
I got these from Of Plums and Pignuts, so if they can grow in Scotland, where he is based, they can grow in northern England. So far, there is only one shoot but hopefully there will be more.
