Today, I’ve prepared the ground for the next apple tree (Scrumptious), which all being well will go in the ground at the beginning of January.
With the garden being so narrow, it will be a bit of a squeeze but it should have some room to stretch out before it hits the fence. It will also be very close to the pond, so lots of fallen leaves to clear out in the autumn. However, that’s a small price to pay for delicious home-grown apples and one more tree in the struggle to keep global temperatures down.
Anyway, I’m on course to get everything else done before I collect the tree. Namely, to dig the hole for the pond and put the path in its proper place, so that I can still get up and down the garden.
