Protecting marine life from plastic

I rarely reblog a post but I think this one. Fishing 4 Litter, on the official blog for the North York Moors is important to disseminate.

By now, I would have thought most people are aware that plastic is a problem in many areas. And I have written posts about my attempts to reduce the amount in my life.

Nonetheless, it seems like an uphill struggle sometimes. My daughter is currently going through a phase where she wants to purchase her own fruit and veg. Something about autonomy, I think.

Still, she will no doubt cone through this phase and in the meantime I continue to look for ways of further reducing my own consumption of plastic.

A recent purchase to reduce plastic in our home: a metal straw. I don’t use straws but my daughter is rather partial.

About Helen

I have always been interesting in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and used to do what I could. Now, I have come to realise that we have reached such a point in terms of environmental degradation that it is more important - perhaps - to focus on building resilience. I therefore do as much as I can to reuse, grow my own and encourage a supportive community, for example. I also keep reading and learning all the time.
