A few years ago, I joined the Permaculture International Research Network. However, nothing ever seemed to happen and then the email address I was using to access the group went belly up.
Along came a revamped group, which was using a new platform, but the inertia continued – until last month. An email arrived, inviting me to join a Zoom meeting, which took place this morning. And what a lift to the spirits, not least because I got to speak to new people from around Europe. People who are as interested in forest gardens as much as me!
Anyway, all being well, the group will really get going from now on. In the meantime, it was so good to be ‘with’ some people who wouldn’t be throwing their food in my front garden.

PIRN continues to look for members from around the world. I was working with a group of Forest Garden practitioners in Europe but in other breakout groups there were medicinal herbalists, researchers in nutrition, research toolkit developers, regenerative agriculturists and those interested in the social side of Permaculture, for example, from a wider range of countries.
