Do you generally feel constrained? The operative words is ‘generally’, ie not to do with Covid restrictions.
Yesterday morning was a moment in time when I felt the opposite. It was beautifully sunny and that blend between warm and cool which makes walking a particular pleasure.
I would have liked to have taken a walk along the bridle path which passes the rhubarb fields, as I had fancied the feeling of countryside around me. Unfortunately, I also wanted a coffee and the village café doesn’t open till 8:30, which would have meant rushing back for the first lesson, or webinar as the online version has been named.
A walk in the opposite direction was nonetheless charming. As I passed the municipal park gates, the view across former royal (Middle Ages royal) hunting ground caused me to pause.
Directly across the road, a keen gardener had planted up the verge in front of their house. A creative way to use the space!
Back home later in the day, I saw my first insect making use of the pond. A bee drank and then flew on her way. All done with such grace.
The garden was actually quite a-buzz with both bumble and honey bees in the evening. Directly in front of the kitchen window the bay and my daughter’s apple tree are in flower, both of which must be quite a draw at present.
I wonder if they ever feel constrained by daily life?
