Round the garden in 80 days #29

I didn’t get time to write an instalment yesterday, although I did get out into the garden. So, tonight there are two small features.

First up is the flower that I moved yesterday. It might be a lily. That seemed to be the consensus where I posted about it last year, wondering what it might be.

Before the move, this little flower had been on the other side of the pond, amongst the vegetation which I am slowly moving – or removing – so that the non-bog bog garden can be dismantled. There are bricks in there which had been meant to hold the pond liner down but as the liner has proved ineffectual, the bricks would be of more use round the new raised bed.

The second item of note is the hosta which was also moved from one side of the pond to the other. In only a matter of days, its leaves have taken on their autumn hue and it looks quite splendid.

About Helen

I have always been interesting in living a more environmentally friendly lifestyle and used to do what I could. Now, I have come to realise that we have reached such a point in terms of environmental degradation that it is more important - perhaps - to focus on building resilience. I therefore do as much as I can to reuse, grow my own and encourage a supportive community, for example. I also keep reading and learning all the time.
